An authentic yoga studio can found be in the middle of Guildford town centre.
It is Sequoia Yoga and is owned and run by Loni Lincoln who opened the studio at 89 Woodbridge Road in January.
It offers yoga, meditation and other movement-based practices. There is a handstand club called Handstand Jam, for those who want support with their inversions. Tai chi and pilates classes are also being planned.
Loni said: “We have been offering yoga and educational workshops since 2017 where we started in Cranleigh.
“We have some of the most knowledgeable teachers and coaches on our schedule. We want to give tools and create habits that create long-lasting change.
“We’re looking to create communities around of all our favourite practices so that when things get tough, there are people to support you through this.
“I work with teachers who encompass the Yogic Spirit, have similar values and who have a vast depth of knowledge.
“I’ve been working in the industry for over 10 years and have used this to create events, retreats and communities all over the world.”
Before Sequoia Yoga took over the shop it was the Guildford Jiu Jitsu studio. Loni adds: “I taught yoga there for a year and it was Jon from Guildford Jiu Jitsu who helped support me and coach me through the commercial letting process.”
Loni reports the business is going really well and said: “I’m just starting to see regulars and classes fill up. Of course would love more people through the door.”
