Jewellery of high value has been stolen from a house in Worplesdon and police officers are now appealing for witnesses.
The incident happened sometime between 12.30pm and 8pm on Wednesday, June 12 at a property situated off the A322, Worplesdon Road near to the Holly Lane roundabout.
A police spokesperson wrote: “It appears that someone entered the house and removed a gun metal grey safe which contained a number of high value items of jewellery including diamond rings, cuff-links, pendant necklaces and earrings.”
Surrey police has also circulated photographs of two of the missing items, an Early Victorian shell cameo brooch with a view of a classical maiden holding a cup measuring 58mm x 50mm and a pair of ruby and diamond cuff-links each composed of a rectangular curved panel with four calibré set rubies and the opposing corner pavé set with round brilliant cut diamonds all to 18k white gold.
DC Richard Cooper said: “The owners of the property are devastated to lose these valuable items and we are appealing to the public and anyone in the jewellery trade to assist us with our investigation.
“If you have been offered any jewellery for sale recently in suspicious circumstances or think you recognise the pieces in the photograph please call us so we bring any offenders to justice.”
