Before you judge someone walk a mile in their shoes. It always surprises me how many people who consider themselves pillars of the community and say there’re against racism. Think it’s perfectly acceptable to hate Gypsies and Travellers simply for existing.

Maybe just once instead of calling the police you take the time to go over and see if they need help with anything. Everyone deserves a safe place to live.

It should be a criminal offence to live in a park. The law needs changing so that the police have powers to move them on straight away, not after waiting for an official order. Imagine if we all started bringing our cars and camper vans and live in the park how it would look like?

A large group of people living in camper vans in a park or anywhere else in a public space it is intimidating to people walking by who are not part of the group. People in a group tend to prioritise their own well-being at the expense of others who are not part of it.

I am glad the council move them along, they should be living only in allocated spaces with suitable facilities (rubbish collection for so many people).

Thank You “Dragon NEWS” for covering the news of Travellers in Stoughton Rec so quickly.

Parents could not let their children play in there, because the Travellers’ dogs were always loose and people were scared even to walk through there to the shops and buses. What will it cost the council to clean the rec up and fix the damaged gate that they broke to enter the park?

Please GBC put a barrier in or a height barrier so there is no repeat of this and stop the gates from being left open. These gates need to be shut to prevent vehicular access.
