Two Found Unconscious Near Green Lane

The young woman found unconscious in the fields next to Green Lane.

A young man and woman were found unconscious yesterday (May 28) near to Green Lane, Guildford. A concerned nearby resident who made the discovery called the emergency services and the police and ambulance service attended.

The young woman was found amid a pile of belongings, thought to have been hers. The young man was found 50 yards away.

The resident who found them said: “The young lady looked in a bad way. She had scars all up her arm and was shaking when the paramedics got her up.”

Concerns about anti social behaviour in or by Green Lane that runs from the top of the Mount to the Hog’s Back have been frequently expressed over recent years. Evidence of drug use and sexual activity have, in the past, been found by local residents and police officers.

Update: 4.30pm: Surrey Police confirmed that it received a report at 6.19pm yesterday (May 28). Officers attended and discovered an intoxicated couple.

A 28-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital and has since been released. A 26-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of assault but was later released. No further action is due.

A spokesperson wrote: “The incident does not relate to any previous incidents in the locality but Surrey Police will deal with any reports of anti-social behaviour swiftly and robustly.  There will be more patrols in the area providing visible reassurance for residents.”

Police and paramedics attended the scene.
