Two Suspects Released on Bail Following Sudden Death of Teenager

logo-surrey-police-darkBGA 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs and manslaughter following the sudden death of an 18-year-old, Charlie Barker from the Wrecclesham area of Farnham, on Sunday morning (February 24th), have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The man, who is from Gloucester, and the woman, who is from Bristol, are due to return to Woking police station on Saturday, March 9th.

A post mortem was carried out yesterday (February 25th), but the cause of death could not be established. Toxicology tests will now be carried out to establish the cause of death. The teenager has not yet been formally identified.

Officers were informed of the untimely death by the South East Coast Ambulance Service at around 10.15am on Sunday. The 18-year-old, who is from the Farnham area, was at a party on Chobham Common on Saturday night and is believed to have taken an unknown substance, possibly through an inhaler, prior to his death.

Anyone who was at the event on Saturday night and has not already spoken to officers should contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting Operation Fox.
