Volunteers Needed Who Like Painting, Decorating and Also Drama

Volunteers are needed to help with re-painting a veranda at the Beacon Centre at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, in Guildford.

The centre is a branch of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care and is the base for its Hospice Care at Home nursing team, as well as accommodating some of its clinical nurse specialists and living well services.

The Rotary Club of Guildford Chantries is a supporter of the Beacon Centre and its members are co-ordinating the re-painting of the veranda by supplying the paint and materials to do the job, but need some extra help to do the work.

They are planning to do the work over two Saturdays – September 24 and October 1, from about 9am until 1pm each day. There will be plenty of free refreshments and free parking will be made available at the hospital car park.

If you can help email Rotarian Martin Grant at martin@kmgrant.co.uk or phone on 01483 454224.

And…

A volunteer drama group, based at the Yvonne Arnaud, will be staging The Odd Couple by Neil Simon, and volunteers are needed now!

Auditions take place on Thursday, September 15 and 22, between 10am and 12.30pm. If interested, go along.

They need:

Volunteer warm-up teachers (who know the basic steps/exercises for half an hour).

Volunteer actors and actresses (no age limit) who really like to make a play and rehearse.

Volunteer prompter and helpers.
