“Cast your vote for your favourite business now before the voting lines close for the Annual Customer Service Awards 2022“, says Experience Guildford, “and you could win a £250 voucher just for voting”.

With more than 1,500 votes cast so far from residents and visitors to the town, it is a chance to show your appreciation for the shops that provide great service and “go the extra mile”.

All businesses operating in the town centre are eligible to be nominated for an award, with 14 categories covering retail, food and drink, leisure and lifestyle and professional services.

There is also a category for managers or owners of shops to nominate their staff members who they feel should be recognised for the great service that they offer.

Amanda Masters from Experience Guildford, who organise the awards, said: “Now in its ninth year, the awards have become the benchmark for town centre businesses who value the opportunity to reward and gain recognition for their customer-facing staff.”

Jen Pentecost from the Bear Garden in Jeffries Passage said she was “proud” to have won the Best Independent Retail category six times since 2013.

Jen Pentecost, from The Bear Garden, said: “We are extremely proud to have won in the Best Independent Retail category six times since then.”

Sam Orledge, White Lion Walk centre manager said: “The awards offer businesses the chance to stand out in a congested market, in what could be the deciding factor between two destinations for a customer.”

Amanda Masters said: “To vote for the Experience Guildford Customer Service Awards, text 88802 with the message CSA plus the name of the store or business you wish to nominate (normal network text charges apply) by midday on July 24 and you could also be in the chance of winning a £250 voucher to spend in the town.”

The three businesses receiving the highest number of votes from each category will then be shortlisted, with an overall category winner selected following a visit by a secret shopper. Winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre on Monday, September 5.
