Well done to everyone who replied last time – you all correctly identified the mystery picture as being the Guildford Sports Centre in Bedford Road and the clock as at the Stoke Hospital almshouse in Stoke Road.
The sports centre was officially opened by Princess Anne in about 1972, and closed around 20 years later when the Spectrum leisure complex opened.
The site in Bedford Road was previously a council depot – it was here in late Victorian times that the town’s rubbish was taken before it was loaded onto barges and taken down stream to the tip at Slyfield. Tipping the refuse on the marshy land there ceased when the dust destructor (incinerator) opened in 1910. But rubbish was again being put into landfill there by the 1960s.
Also in Bedford Road at one time was the Guildford Corporation Club. That was eventually relocated to a new building in Slyfield, which I hear shut for the last time last week.
This week’s mystery photo is a factory building on the outskirts of Guildford, Can you name it and say where it was?
And here’s the mystery clock, photographed by Alistair Fulton. Do you know where this is? Might be a little tricky as it is not always that visible. As a clue, it is at a school.
If you know the answers to please leave a reply in the box below. All replies will be posted at about the same time next week, along with a new post with the answers to this week’s photo and mystery date, and the next pair of images.

The picture shows Weyside Engineering and the Dennis Factory and is taken from the University of Surrey car park. This area is known as Midleton Industrial Estate.

The clock is on the Rydes Hill Preparatory School building, Aldershot Road.
Can be seen from the bus lay-by.

At the foot of the mystery photo appears to be the University car park, alongside the Reading line. If so, the buildings at the top belong to Dennis’s factory. The site of the modern building in the middle was at one time allotments. Did that belong to Dennis’s, too?
Tormead School is often obscured by trees. The buildings in the clock photo are of a similar style to Tormead, so that’s my best guess.

We’re pretty sure it’s the Weyside Engineering factory, Midleton Road. No idea where the school is, so we guess the County School.

After much thought we think the clock could be St Nicholas School.

I’ve been hunting for a picture of the old sports centre in Bedford Road, Guildford for ages. Is there any chance you could send me the one you had on this site please?
