Wilde’s ‘Selfish Giant’ Is Coming To Guildford Cathedral In The Autumn

Guildford Cathedral will be welcoming Riding Lights Theatre Company this October for its production of Oscar Wilde’s The Selfish Giant.
The audience will be taken into the magical world of the Giant’s garden, filled with music, beauty, birdsong and stories.
The Giant is angry when he returns to find children playing happily in his orchard.
Every day after school, they play beneath the blossom trees, until he builds a high wall. Then winter takes hold of the garden in its icy grip. Will summer ever return?
The production includes storytelling, interactive games, live music and puppetry. Riding Lights Theatre Company brings The Selfish Giant to life in a heart-warming family play, aimed at ages three and above.
For nearly 50 years, Riding Lights Theatre Company, which is a charity, has performed in churches, schools, prisons, theatres, streets and communities across the UK. Shaped by a Christian ethos, its work is inclusive, accessible and welcoming to all, says Guildford Cathedral, inspiring audiences to explore creativity, faith and social justice.
The production runs on Wednesday, October 29, at 11am and 2pm.
