Judging is well underway for the Guildford Design Awards 2025
Projects completed in Guildford over the previous two years entered in this years Guildford Design Awards show the town in good health judging by the great range of over 40 entries.
The panel of judges carefully considered all the entries and prepared a short-list of some 20 excellent design projects which are being visited during August.
The gamut of short-listed projects includes: sustainable design, small and major urban interventions, responsive conservation, stimulating new homes, delicate landscapes and striking public art.
Claire Upton Brown, Head of Planning at GBC said: “Guildford Borough Council are delighted to be involved in the awards, the breadth of the projects demonstrates how good design is embedded in so many of the schemes built out over the past two years.”
Ben Darnton of Ben’s Records added: “I am really pleased to be taking part as a judge for the Guildford Design Awards. It is so good to see how many worthy projects there are in our borough showing real vision and, of course, design skill.”

Once all judging visits are completed the difficult decisions on who wins what will be taken in early September.
The award winners will be announced at a presentation event in November.
