Surrey Police BadgeA woman was approached by man who grabbed at her clothing in the park area off Macdowall Road, Queen Elizabeth Park, Stoughton, in the early hours of Wednesday, April 3.

The victim in her 30s, although shaken, was able to get away from the man and make her way to a place of safety.

She believes the same man may have followed her from the area of the Total petrol station in Worplesdon Road before approaching her at the location where the incident occurred just after 1.30am.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged in his 50s, around 6ft 2ins, with grey hair and a grey beard. He was wearing a pale grey jumper, possibly with a hood, and stonewash jeans.

Detective Inspector Simon Dann said: “This has understandably been an upsetting experience for the victim. The victim was not injured in any way but has been left quite shaken by the incident and we would urge anyone with any information that could help identify the man responsible to get in touch.

“We are conducting house-to-house enquiries in the vicinity but I would urge anyone who was in the Stoughton area in the early hours and believes they may have seen or heard anything which could connect to call 101 quoting reference GD/13/2631. Information can also be given anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
