Police in Guildford have released an e-fit of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a serious sexual assault off Woodbridge Road.

The incident happened at around 10.30pm on Monday June 29 in the alleyway which runs behind the Sea Cadets building and Guildford Cricket Club between Woodbridge Road and Woodbridge Meadows. One entrance is next to the Woodbridge Cafe.

The victim, a woman in her early 20s, was approached from behind and sexually assaulted by a man who has been described as possibly Middle Eastern appearance, of slight build, in his late 20s and around 5ft 6 tall.

He had black hair with tight curls and was wearing long trousers and a stripy or checked top and was wearing “Beat” headphones. Unusually he was also wearing very long white trainers which appeared to be too big for someone of his size.

Officers are linking this assault with another incident which happened on Sunday May 3 at the Guildford railway station underpass where a man approached a woman and touched her clothing.

Alternatively reports can be made anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
