Guildford Spectrum has announced a £250,000 refit of its gym next month.
The work will take place between December 7 and 20, reopening at 6.30am on Monday December 21.
There will be a comprehensive upgrade of the cardio vascular equipment to the latest interactive Technogym UNITY™ machines, plus a TRX frame, additional squat racks, and battling ropes.
The gym layout will be improved to accommodate the new equipment and extra stretch and functional training areas will be available in both the upper and lower gym. Training zones will be also be created.
Both the upper and lower gym will be completely redecorated, extra mirrors will be put up and new flooring will be laid
The area manager of Freedom Leisure (that runs Spectrum on behalf of Guildford Borough Council), Steve May, said.“We are very excited by the new gym design and equipment selection which have largely resulted from customer feedback and requests from members.
“We have listened to customer demand and completed and exhaustive search within the industry to find the best combination of new technology and equipment to allow our members to engage with some of the very best machines and kit available.”
Ahead of the work starting, Freedom Leisure is hosting customer forums on Monday, November 16, at 7.30pm and Saturday, November 21, at 10.30am on to which customers can book via info@guildfordspectrum.co.uk.
There will also be meetings between customers and members of the fitness management team on Tuesday and Friday, November 17 amd 20, between noon and 12.30pm to discuss the new gym developments and answer any questions people have regarding their fitness provision while the work is being carried out. The gym will be relocated to Arena B while the refurbishment takes place.
