Students aged between four and 18 years of age attended the conference held at the University of Portsmouth.

The Shalford children gave a presentation about a space week at school in January and featured here in a previous story.

At the conference, held on November 2, the children had a chance to talk to Tim Peake and to ask him some questions about his experiences in space.

They quizzed him on the size of the International Space Station and if he ever saw the Death Star in space!

During the space week, children across the school dressed up as aliens, astronauts or scientists and pretended to go on a rocket to the International Space Station.

Children also made models of the space station and created art inspired by space. They particularly enjoyed dancing like aliens from the film Men in Black.

During the space week, children also used Twitter to send pictures of their learning to Tim Peake in space.

The trip was a wonderful experience for the children and a fantastic way to celebrate all the children’s learning about Tim Peake and space.
