Perhaps the Guildford Dragon would also publish the names of the 12 borough councillors (25% of the total) who were unable to attend and vote at the full Council meeting and invite an explanation?

If the purpose of a referring a controversial planning application to the full Council is to ensure the entire borough can vote on it through its elected members, then should not the council’s constitution prevent a minority of our elected members from deciding the outcome? In this case a paltry 18 out of 48.

Happy to oblige, as far as possible, by adding those who did not vote or were absent.

Of course, if any councillor wishes to explain their absence they can do so by further comment. Ed
