A charity that works with blind and partially sighted people in Surrey is appealing for some volunteer help in Guildford during National Eye Health Week that runs from September 21 to 25.
Sight for Surrey needs people to help raise awareness of the week, which will feature an event in Guildford on September 25 where advice and information will be given, along with fun things to do.
There are volunteering opportunities to suit individuals or teams of people.
What’s involved:
Volunteers for this role will have the following qualities:
Sight for Surrey’s volunteer recruitment co-ordinator Sue Howson said: “This is a very flexible volunteer role. You will have the opportunity to select which events you can attend. You can fit your volunteering around your existing commitments, so the hours for this role are negotiable and on an ad hoc basis which is mutually convenient.
“We are committed to developing and supporting our volunteers and if after participating in the week you would like to get more involved we would be delighted to let you know about the many other volunteering opportunities we have available. We pay 40 pence a mile for the journeys you undertake on behalf of the organisation.”
