Police officers are urging this man to come forward?

Police officers investigating an attempted theft outside Waitrose in Godalming just after 11am on April 15 would like to speak to a man caught on camera nearby.

Two men took credit cards from the bag of the 76-year-old female victim as she left the store.

A member of the public raised the alarm and attempted to detain the two men as they made off empty handed. The woman was shaken, but uninjured in the incident.

Officers believe the man pictured could hold vital information about the incident, and they are urging him, or anyone that knows him, to come forward.

Anyone who can assist with the investigation is urged by Surrey Police to contact them on 101 quoting reference 45170038620 or use the online reporting system found at https://report.police.uk/

Alternatively information can be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
