Ballet is returning to Guildford this June with a programme said to capture both the joy of classical ballet and the thrill of bold new work, performed by the graduating class of the Central School of Ballet.
This year’s company of 35 young dancers will perform at the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre on June 18.
Blending tradition with fresh energy, the 2026 Ballet Central tour features an exciting new commission by alumnus Cameron McMillan, set to the emotional and unmistakable pulse of Ravel’s Bolero.
The programme also presents one of Kenneth MacMillan’s earlier works, Solitaire, revived for Ballet Central by Lynn Wallis and Times Square Ballet, an excerpt from Ashley Page’s Broadway musical On the Town, which is set to delight audiences with its rhythm, glamour and romance.
The performance is intended to be an accessible introduction to dance for audiences of all ages, and the opportunity to enjoy tomorrow’s talent, right on your doorstep.
Ballet Central was created in 1984 as the touring company of London’s Central School of Ballet to give their graduating students the opportunity of professional performance experience, as well as BA (Hons),in Professional Dance and Performance.
Graduates go on to dance in companies across the world, including Birmingham Royal Ballet, Northern Ballet, Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures, Scottish Ballet, Ballet Black and Rambert Dance Company.
