Fire Reported at Wisley & Ockham Common

Fire broke out on Wisley & Ockham Common this morning (September 17, 2018).

Local reporter Chris Dick confirmed that police closed Old Lane from the Black Swan crossroads to the A3.

He observed one fire engine plus an off-road fire truck were in attendance with three police vehicles.

The fire is believed to have been off the main foot pathway towards the Semaphore Tower, when heading from the cafe Ockham Bites and the pay & display car park.

At 1.30pm a Surrey Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We are currently at Ockham Common dealing with a fire. Two fire engines, a water carrier and a number of specialist vehicles are in attendance.”

The fire appliances were reported to have left at 4.30pm.
