Held on Saturday, Godalming Lions member Alan Hill, who has had triple bypass heart surgery, wanted to give something back to the BHF.

In fact, the Lions have been celebrating 15 years of their popular quiz nights that have raised more than £50,000 for many charities. The six-man per team quiz nights, with four held each year, are always well attended with about 120 people.

The chairman of the Guildford and Godalming branch of the BHF, Shirley West, said: “Thank you Godalming Lions for a very enjoyable evening and for raising an amazing amount of money.”
