It was led by Farnham Zumba duo Kate and Antonia, whose energy and smiles lifted the spirits and got everyone ‘clubbercising’.

A vibrant melange of T-shirts, tutus, whistles and glitzy makeup added to the clubby ambience as all the participants exercised – but most importantly raised money for Challengers.

Challengers is a charity organisation dedicated to providing vital play and leisure opportunities for disabled children and young people aged two to 25 across Surrey and Hampshire.

It is often the only play or leisure environment that families with disabled children can access outside of their home and school. It also provides a crucial short-break to families, siblings and carers from the demands of caring.

Phoebe Day from the Challengers team said: “The money raised at this event can pay for 50 hours of play at one our schemes, enabling local disabled children to challenge their impairments, make friends and most importantly have fun while parents and carers get a much needed short break.”

Weary but uplifted after their efforts, the Challengers ‘clubbers’ were all treated to freebie bags containing beauty products donated by E-Spa, bottles of water donated by the Co-op in Grayshott and Tesco in Guildford, while oranges were donated by Sainsbury’s at Burpham.

The total raised on the day (September 27) was £1,017.05.

Challengers’ next big  fundraising event is The Kelly’s Cross Country Challenge, for both children and adults, on Sunday, October 18, at Loseley Park. Click here for more details.
