Clandon Wood Surrey Hills Natural Burial Reserve has won thes ustainability / green award category at the 2015 Eagle Radio Biz Awards.
The awards ceremony, which took place at Pennyhill Park Hotel in Bagshot, had nine categories in all with more than 27 finalists attending from business and community organisations across Surrey and Hampshire.
Simon Ferrar, business development manager and founder of Clandon Wood said: “Winning this award is a real honour and means a great deal to all the team.
“At Clandon Wood we have created a special place that supports an abundance of wildlife whilst also providing families and the bereaved with somewhere quite special and unique to hold a funeral. We believe through the conservation work we are carrying out on site that we are creating a living legacy for generations to come. We would like to thank Eagle Radio for this award and organising such a wonderful event.”
Clandon Wood is located in West Clandon, just outside Guildford in Surrey and was officially opened by the Mayor of Guildford in June 2013, since then it has gone from strength to strength becoming an award winning burial ground.
In 2014 Clandon Wood was voted the best natural burial ground in the UK, gained Green Flag status from the Keep Britain Tidy charity and won cemetery of the year 2014/15 voted by The Good Funeral Awards.
