Coventry Blaze got out to an early lead but Flames chipped away through the remaining time to eventually come home with a 4-3 road win on Sunday (December 7).
Two back-to-back wins over the weekend move the Flames to sixth position in the standings.
William Boyson and Ivan Chukarov set Blaze to a lead with early goals less than two minutes apart and they maintained the two goal advantage through the end of the set.
Less than a minute into the second, Jack Jacome cut the difference to a single but shortly thereafter on a powerplay Jere Vertanen re-stored the home teamâs two goal spread they carried into the third.
Just 67 seconds into the third, Jacomeâs second of the evening made it a one goal game.
Mathieu Gosselin levelled in the 54th minute and Cole Ully had the winner just over a minute from regulation close.
âWe did not start off well but we certainly got better as the game wore on,â said manager Paul Dixon.
âIt was a gritty effort late in the game to be able to get back in it and take a win so the guys can be pretty proud of a well earned four-point weekend.â
