Dazzling Show For Armed Forces Day In Guildford

You can expect a fantastic show of military displays, live music and entertainment at the Armed Forces Day National Event at Stoke Park on Saturday, June 27.

The nation will be watching Guildford as local residents celebrate and thank all the armed forces.

Entry is free and no tickets are required to watch the parade or enter the Stoke Park event.

Music and entertainment starts at 10.30am in Stoke Park. The Armed Forces Day parade passes through the town at 11.30 am. The live action displays in Stoke Park start at 1pm. A Tornado GR4 Flypast leads the way, ending with the Red Arrows flypast, mass bands and beating retreat. Peter Gordon from Eagle Radio will be the MC.

Action will include army gymnastic displays, parachute displays, Merlin helicopters, Challenger 2 Tank, Chinook and artillery and light gun equipment. Entertainment will feature Bruce Foxton and his band From The Jam, Aldershot Military Wives Choir and much, much more!

There will be fun on the Guildford Fringe Stage up to 5pm. Music and entertainment continuing on the Arena Stage until 7.30pm.

Cllr Matt Furniss, who is leading the Armed Forces Day for Guildford Borough Council said: “Stoke Park will transform into an amazing spectacle with so much to see both on the ground and in the skies above Guildford. The Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force have pulled out all the stops to ensure the National Event for 2015 will be an Armed Forces Day to remember.”
