Did You See Pair Assault Man in Allen House Grounds?

A man suffered head and eye injuries when he was attacked by a man and a woman in Guildford on Tuesday evening (March 17).

The victim, in his 40s, had been walking through the grounds of Allen House between Eastgate Gardens and Chertsey Street between 5.30pm and 6pm.

Feature Surrey police badge 3He was approached by a woman, and following a conversation, was knocked to the ground by a man, who it is believed was with the woman.

The man is being treated in hospital for injuries to his head and eye.

Detective Constable Jonathan Bradshaw from Guildford CID, said: “This was a nasty attack which took place in daylight at a busy time of day so passing members of the public may have seen something.

“We would like to trace anyone who witnessed this incident and I am appealing for anyone with any information to call us on 101 – any details could prove vital to the investigation and help bring those responsible to justice.”

A 27-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, both from Guildford, have been arrested on suspicion of assault (GBH). They have both been release on bail until May 15 while enquiries continue.
