Guildford police are investigating two dog attacks on Pewley Down, a popular dog walking area to the south-east of the town, and are appealing for any information in connection with the incidents.
The first incident happened at around 9.15am on Wednesday, November 11.
A man in his 40s was out jogging when a dog jumped up and bit him on his buttock and chest causing minor injuries. The dog is believed to be an American Staffordshire cross or similar breed.
A second incident was reported shortly after, on the same day, between 9.30 and 9.45am, also on Pewley Down.
Two women were out walking when a dog on a leash jumped up and bit one woman on her arm and buttock causing minor injuries. The other woman was also bit on her arm damaging her coat but causing no injuries.
On this occasion the owners of the dog are described as a couple possibly in their 20s or 30s. The man is described as unshaven with dark brown hair tied back in a ponytail.
The woman is described to be of a large build with mousy blonde shoulder length hair, wearing pastel coloured stripped trousers.
Sergeant Matt Taylor of Guildford Safer Neighbourhoods Team said: “We believe the dog involved in each incident is the same animal and we would like to speak to the owners of this animal as soon as possible.
“Surrey Police is committed to ensuring the safety of its residents and are keen to resolve this issue quickly.”
