Did you know that there is a police “Borough Commander for Guildford”? Sounds important, so we thought it would be good to find out what he, Inspector James Wyatt, does and his assessment of local crime issues.

Hear what he has to say on a range of issues including where all those police cars with “blues and twos” are really going…

I had to suppress a chuckle at the end when Martin Giles asked if a police vehicle was being driven on blues and twos because “the canteen was closing”. Unless they’ve been reintroduced recently, police station canteens in Surrey and probably most other forces are a thing of the dim and distant past.

Editor’s response: Yes, I am a thing of the past too, probably. I have fond memories of a “999 special” breakfast (full English, plus toast and a cup of tea/coffee) when working alongside the Metropolitan Police in a previous career.
