The Charcoal Grill on Park Street

Police are seeking more evidence after a large-scale fight erupted outside the Charcoal Grill, in Park Street, Guildford at about 3.30am on March 8.

A victim was punched and kicked, suffering a fractured cheek-bone.

Officers believe the suspect was at the Thirty3Hz club before the incident, and are asking for anyone with relevant information or photos or video footage taken inside the club to please call 101, quoting ref PR/45200026632.

Barney Coyle

The incident follows a fatal assault in October last year. Barney Coyle, 23 of Frog Grove Lane, Wood Street, Guildford, who pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of 24-year-old Jamie Smith, was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years at Guildford Crown Court in January.

An appeal was made in January under the Unduly Lenient Sentence Scheme (ULS) and the case referred to the Court of Appeal. In March, the sentence was increased to nine years and nine months.
