Christmas got under way when more than 300 runners put on their Santa hats and set off around Stoke Park to raise money for Guildford-based charity Challengers.
The Santa Run event, which included a Christmas market, raised £15,466 for the charity that aims to break down barriers by providing play and leisure activities for disabled children and young people across the South East.
Kelly’s Storage Charity Events organised the event and covered the costs so that every penny went directly to Challengers.
There were 2.5k and 5k runs throughout the day. A Challengers spokesperson said: “It was great to see people of all ages and abilities getting involved and enjoying their runs, with the 2.5k route being fully accessible to wheelchair and pram users.
“Shockingly, many young people who attend Challengers have been excluded from other play and leisure settings. With our commitment to full inclusion, we welcome every child regardless of the complexity of their impairments or how challenging their behaviour is.”
