In response to: Music Festival GuilFest Returns to Stoke Park Next June

While the return of the event itself might be welcome, the organisation should be carefully examined.

Although the same event organiser and owner remained constant, the registered company has changed several times. Why? Because the companies, due to adverse events such as bad weather, were rendered insolvent and wound up.

This meant many supporting local companies, as creditors, also went into administration.

Guildford Borough Council took the sensible measure to request a bond to be lodged to cover any liabilities after the event, such as damage to Stoke Park itself.
