Here’s a chance to ask the experts – Matthew Alexander, David Rose, Mary Alexander and Gavin Morgan – anything you like about Guildford’s history.

Have you got a burning question about Guildford’s history?

Guildford History Question Time, takes place on Wednesday, February 22, 7.30pm, the Keep pub, Castle Street.

With Guildford Dragon NEWS editor Martin Giles chairing this much anticipated and enjoyable evening there will be plenty of time to discuss Guildford’s history and heritage and hear something of the long awaited revamp of the town’s museum.

Members of the audience who have a burning question to ask can have it noted before the question time that will start at 7.30pm.

The panel will answer those first followed by questions from the floor.

People, places, events, mysteries, rumours, – ask anything about Guildford’s past. The evening will also make aware of the plans for Guildford Museum, so you can have you say about that as well.

Matthew was formerly curator of Guildford Museum, Dragon NEWS writer David has written and sold more books on the town’s history than anyone else, Mary was the collections officer at Guildford Museum where Gavin once worked too before he researched and wrote the book The Guildford Guy Riots while Martin has co-authored three books with David Rose and is completing his third local history course under Matthew’s expert tuition.

The evening is being organised by the Guildford Heritage Forum and hosted by the Facebook group Guildford Past & Present, run by Ben Darnton of Ben’s Collectors Records, and the Keep pub. Get there early to ensure you get a seat.
