Guildford Labour was hit by the nationally reported cyber strike on Labour HQ this week.

Design of a leaflet for Guildford residents was held up when computer systems were turned off to repel the cyber attack in London. The leaflet was being created to introduce local Labour candidate Anne Rouse. It is expected that the leaflet will be recovered.

Sue Hackman, Labour’s local campaign manager, said: “Interference in election processes is abhorrent when it happens to any party, and an attack on democracy itself.

“The cyberattack was repelled, but it has cost us time. As an alternative, we have put in place an opportunity for Guildford people to meet our candidate in person between 1400-1500 on the High Street this Saturday (November 16) [not Sunday as originally stated].
