Guildford Man Sets Personal Best In Paris Marathon With 2 Hours 38 Minutes

Andrew Lilley, who grew up in Guildford, has achieved a time of 2 hours and 38 minutes in the Paris marathon on Sunday, April 3.

Guildford born, Andrew Lilley, running his personal best of 2 hours 38 minutes in the Paris Marathon.

Coming in at 183 out of an international field of around 60,000 runners, he described the result as “fantastic”.

His time, a personal best, puts him in the top 4% of the world’s marathon runners.

Andrew, 35, son of the well-known Guildford vegan activist, Monica Lilley, has been a vegan himself for some 20 years.

He has run several marathons and also participated in ironman events (3.8 km swim, 180 km cycling and a full marathon). He said he wanted to ” spread the vegan message” through his athletic endeavours.

Andrew Lilley ran the Paris Marathon to “spread the vegan message”.

Andrew married some 18 months ago and with his wife who is half Swiss recently moved to Geneva where he works as a financial advisor to pension funds in the area of ESG (Eco, Sustainable, Governance) investments.
