About a year ago the top of Northway, Stoughton, was resurfaced. When asking why the rest of the road was not done SCC Highway Inspector said it was not required as it was all right.

So why has SCC been out three times this year already to fill potholes? On Wednesday January 24, they filled twenty potholes on Northway, leaving some proud of the level of the surface with loose chippings, which are causing problems for pedestrians and parked cars. It is well known that nothing has been done to slow Northway traffic down, so speeding cars are flicking the chippings up. One women was hit in the face and neck. Cars have also been hit and the chips have gone onto driveways.

Another example of SCC’s inability to save money and resolve problems permanently.

Instead, they patch it up and leave but continue to tell people there is no need to resurface the rest of Northway. Three visits in January, and 20 potholes later there is still more to come, no doubt.
