In response to: A Mayor for Surrey Still Subject to Agreement, Council Leader Clarifies

Once again we are being driven towards a decision, this time on a Mayoral Strategic Authority, without any consultation and without any knowledge of the detail.

It should be seen as an attempt by Whitehall to force us to have a Mayor in exchange for an offset of the appalling debt amassed by Woking and Spelthorne Councils.

We should look at the detail, when it is available, with great care.
