Letter: A ‘People’s Vote’ is Required to Base Our Decision on What We Have Learned

In response to: Guildford’s MP Outlines Her Position on Brexit As Vote on Deal Looms

Guildfordians know so much more about Brexit now compared to 2016. All the things that David Davis, Dominic Raab, Theresa May et al have been doing for the last two years have culminated in educating the public, including me, where previously we were not.

I am sure that if our politicians are unable collectively to resolve the irreconcilable red lines we have set ourselves with Brexit, we will have to go to a “People’s Vote” to settle the matter.

We will no longer base our decision on fictitious statements (emergency Budget, Project Fear, extra £350m/week to the NHS, straight bananas etc…). We will base our decision on the reality of what Brexit means now that we have had two further years of detailed analysis and commentary.
