Letter: Can We All See the Lib Dem-R4GV Agreement Before Voting?

Published on: 26 Sep, 2020

From Paul Spooner

Conservative ‘independent’ borough councillor for South Ash & Tongham

In the spirit of transparency lauded by both the Lib Dems and R4GV [Residents for Guildford and Villages], perhaps we could see in full the signed [power sharing] agreement between the two parties, prior to the next full council meeting [October 6] when all councillors are expected to vote for the changed council leadership?

What will we be voting for?

    Good idea.

In return, can Cllr Spooner please tell us what a “Conservative ‘independent’” is, why there are now two Tory groups on the council, who belongs to which and what the difference is? Is this about policy differences or personalities? If Cllr Spooner can’t tell us, perhaps Cllr Manning can.

It won’t be Cllr Manning, as it is his turn to refuse any contact with the excellent Dragon.
