In response to the owner of Decade (an independent trader that I admire) who commented in the article Experience Guildford CEO ‘Cautiously Optimistic’ On Crucial Ballot But Members’ Opinions Polarised, why would Experience Guildford put any money towards a campaign advocating against its own existence?
Of course there is a bias, they are selling a service and want to continue doing so. The democratic part comes when the shop owners vote yes or no on the ballot.
As a member of the public, I think Experience Guildford does provide a good service. It is nice to see the town rangers sorting out issues on the High Street that would probably otherwise go unreported.
Having an entity that promotes the retail and leisure experience in Guildford is a good thing to have and gives the impression Guildford cares about its town centre.
