In response to: Ambitious GBC Climate Change Plan Approved but £59m Cost Shows Scale of Challenge

GBC’s “ambitious” Climate Plan openly states that the council has no funding to implement and is left unreferenced in its budget, passed only a matter of weeks before.

If the plan was deliverable within the powers (and will) of this administration, I would give it more credit. But it is not and so should be seen in the context of the imminent local elections where the Liberal Democrats will be hoping to persuade voters that they’ve taken action on Climate Change.

There is no doubt that this plan is a good starting point for Guildford Borough Council; so we can only hope that May’s election delivers an Executive willing to deliver it.
