Letter: Help Us Make Carols On The Green Even Better

Raineee Wornham and I would like to thank people for all the support they have given us over the last few years for our Carols on the Green event in Stoughton in December.

I still find it hard to believe that from one simple idea such a wonderful event has evolved!

Popular carols and festive songs were sung by a large crowd at Stoughton’s Carols on the Green in December.

It still brings a tear to my eye, even on the night when the rain has been falling, and let’s face it, we haven’t been lucky enough yet to have it dry all day.

But by about 6.45pm I look around and see people coming from all directions – you can only imagine the feeling I get from that. It is immense.

This year we were thinking it would be an idea to ask if anyone has any suggestions or comments to try
and help us make it the perfect evening.

Perhaps there was something we have missed before, or perhaps a carol we haven’t included.

We are going to change our songs for December 12, 2014, so let us know as soon as possible and we will
try to get any suggestions included.

We would also be very pleased to have more volunteers to help put up the marquee and to bake cakes
for the refreshments in Stoughton Methodist Hall afterwards.
