From Gordon Bridger
hon alderman, former Mayor of Guildford and Holy Trinity ward resident
In response to: Another Conservative Councillor Deselected – This Time in a Town Centre Ward
Nils Christiansen, has been a good, conscientious councillor for Holy Trinity ward. He has served us well.
Why was he deselected? He did not go willingly. What did he do to annoy the Guildford Borough Council Executive?
If this goes on there will be no one left. I hope he will tell us what is going on and stand as an Independent next May. We need good councillors.
I say to him: thank you Nils, someone appreciates you.

Nils Christiansen seems to be yet another loss to our town.
I have been active in Guildford affairs now for nearly sixty years and I can honestly say I have never seen such a growing number of talented people, with the sincere wish to serve Guildford, being so treated.
The question must now be asked, why? And who will be next?

The Labour party has been taken over by Momentum and are busy throwing out mere socialists.
Meanwhile, a Tory rump maintains its cognitive inertia by not allowing Conservatives any say in what they do.
Strange days.
