In response to: Jeremy Hunt Admits He Is Not Confident of Winning at the Next General Election

I was very interested to hear Mr Hunt’s comment that he has “engaged with Ash Parish Council”.

I am the chairman of Ash Parish Council, a role I have held since May 2023.

Mr Hunt has not engaged with me or with my vice-chairman. He has not attended any of our parish council meetings. Therefore, his statement is inaccurate and I hope he will correct it.

Jeremy met with councillor Paul Golding on 13th April.

If a meeting with one councillor counts as interacting with the council, does that mean a meeting with say 10 voters mean interacting with your constituents?

I think Cllr Fiona White [Lib Dem, Ash Wharf and Ash Parish Council chair] has forgotten that Cllr John Tonks is a member of Ash Parish Council. There has certainly been engagement there.

I guess Cllr White means that she has not been directly involved in Parliamentary matters… Hmm I wonder why?
