Thanks to our MP, Anne Milton, I understand that Burpham’s sewer problem is currently being investigated at director level at Thames Water.

She has managed to engage at a higher level while, down in the murky depths, us plebs simply could not make the people responsible take notice of how serious the problem actually is.

Now in its 29th day there are still no engineers sitting scratching their heads underground. The King of Farce, Brian Rix, must be spinning in his grave.

While she’s at it, maybe she could get an answer as to how their infrastructure could possibly cope with the additional 13,000 new homes planned for in GBC’s discredited local plan.

I believe their answer will be “it can’t”.
