Letter: Mystery of the Tory Board at Gosden Hill Farm

I see there is a “Vote Conservative” board up at Gosden Hill Farm at Merrow Lane, Burpham. This seems an odd choice because this is one of the main sites allocated for housing with Martin Grant Homes in the 2019 Local Plan, forced through in the dying days of GBC’s Conservative control.

Now, seemingly, the remains of the old Tory administration are desperately trying to trigger a review of their own Local Plan and housing numbers. What are they up to? Is this real or just electioneering? Curious indeed.

I wonder if they have told the owners of Gosden Hill Farm of any plans they may have for review and presumably reduction in housing numbers? If not, would the owners still be so seemingly supportive of the Conservatives by putting up the board?

What a lovely pollution free blue sky over bright green fields!

This is what conservatives are good at. Putting their party’s banner willy nilly everywhere. Do they always get permission? Their posters are even on lampposts and the trees.

The only Tory placards I have seen are in Ripley, advertising candidates for a completely different electoral division. Is this lawful?
