A family-friendly mass cycle ride is taking place on Saturday Afternoon, April 27, and participants are welcome.
The aim of the event is to show that people in Guildford want safer infrastructure so more can choose to leave cars at home when travelling to school, the shops or a park. And to put people, especially children, first when new travel routes around town are being planned.
At 12.45 pm there will be a pre-ride picnic near the London Road entrance to Stoke Park.
The ride begins at 2pm with a slow-paced, marshalled, circular ride.
One of the ride organisers, Chloe Sutcliffe, said: “After around 300 people turned out for each ride in 2023, we are hoping to see the numbers increase this year. Everyone, no matter their age, is welcome to join the fun and help.
It is the third ride organised by the Guildford arm of the organisation Kidical Mass. It is a global campaign which envisions a future where children and young people can safely and independently cycle and walk around the streets in their local areas.

It would very much help to know what the planned circular route is so that those of us who need to travel further than a reasonable bicycle distance or to avoid getting wet in the predicted showers can avoid the area. The G-BUG web site does not show it.
