We at GBC understand how important the former House of Fraser building is to Guildford residents and the significant role it has played in our High Street for many years. It occupies a prominent position at the heart of the town centre and forms an important part of Guildford’s historic High Street.

We remain committed to supporting a thriving town centre and retail sector, while recognising the significant challenges facing high streets across the country, and hope the new owners will consider the needs of the local community alongside the changing needs of the retail sector as they consider the building’s future.

As the Local Planning Authority however, we are unable to comment further on any sale or future development proposals for the site.
