In response to: GBC Councillor Says Sorry For Planning Delays

This is a grim state of affairs. I’ve worked in planning for nearly two decades and Guildford Borough Council was usually one of the best authorities for ensuring the timely validation of planning applications over that time period.

Planning is a front line service facilitating economic activity. When it goes wrong, confidence in a borough tends to suffer disproportionately. The lack of communication with applicants needs addressing as a priority.
