Following the article about the Green Flag Awards, given to several parks and open spaces in Guildford, I am writing in praise of the anonymous litter pickers, of which there are at least four, who ensure that one of the award winning sites, the Riverside Nature Reserve, is kept clear of the litter dropped by those poorly educated, lazy people who don’t care about our pristine amenity.

So a note of advice for visitors to The Riverside Nature Reserve:

1. If your dog poops – you should scoop;

2. The car park and its entrance is not the local dump – that’s in Slyfield industrial estate.

Please note: the anonymous litter pickers will quiet happily pick up any dropped paper money without complaint.
