Letter: The Positive Impact of Street Angels Is Two-fold

In response to: Guildford’s Street Angels Leader Chris Britton Awarded BEM

I joined the Street Angels a year ago because I valued what they do: keep the streets of Guildford safe at night for our young people and be a non-judgmental supportive presence for those who are, or become vulnerable. This can happen when they become separated from their friends, suffer the effects of homelessness, intoxication, drug abuse, assault or any other issue which has caused personal distress or the potential for physical harm.

What I had totally underestimated was the positive impact of meeting such a wonderful bunch of people – my fellow Street Angels. It’s a complete blast being in the company of a team of people who are motivated to be the difference, going the extra mile.

So cool to see this recognition for Chris. It couldn’t happen to a better man.
