Letter: Ukrainians Need Our Help

The people of Ukraine deserve and urgently need our support. I admire their courage and determination to defend their country against the war started by the Hitler of the 21st Century.

The West has been far too weak and naive in thinking Putin would not invade. Sanctions will not be effective to save democracy in Ukraine. Supply of military aid has been inadequate (although in fairness UK has supplied weapons).

The Ukrainian people now require humanitarian and medical aid as soon as possible.
